To say that we think she’s amazing would be an understatement.

"Megan DePuy is truly one of a kind. I was fortunate enough to work with her for 2 years at Stanford, and in our time together it became abundantly clear that she has a true passion for speech therapy. Our patients adored her, she had a way of connecting to each and every patient, regardless of age or diagnosis. She constantly strives to make the therapy experience unique for each and every patient. If you are considering Megan DePuy for you or your family, I can assure you that you will not be disappointed."

"We first met Megan seven years ago when our son was 2 ½. He didn’t speak at all and qualified to start receiving speech therapy.  Megan came over to our home twice a week and worked with him in a caring, devoted, fun way.  She first taught him sign language and he was able to communicate his needs to us within a short period of time. Soon after this he was making sounds and words because of the many creative techniques that Megan used with him each session.  We marveled at all of the innovative, unique methods such as when she put spreadable cheese on his lower lip and then ask him to scrape it off with his teeth to teach him the “f” sound rather than the “th” sound he was making.  She carefully determined the things that appealed to him and integrated his “likes” into the structure of her sessions.  Every single session, she would bring something new with her to teach him sounds and words. Her approach to him was consistently purposeful, methodical and fun.  Our son looked forward to every session with Megan.  To say that we think she’s amazing would be an understatement

"I had a severe stroke 3.5 years ago.  Lost all speech. Megan helped me a
lot when I worked with her at Stanford one half years ago. I'm still
working hard to regain more speech. Now that she's in private practice I
will work with her more"

Megan is phenomenal and made such an important impact on my young son's life. At age 2, he was not speaking almost any words, not even "mama". He almost never made more than a few sounds like "da" and "di". We tested a number of different places that offered speech therapy and all were uncomfortable or overwhelming for my shy quiet toddler.
I am so incredibly grateful we found Megan! She is smart, skilled, and most importantly, created such a meaningful and trusting bond with my reluctant 2 year old. It's hard to overstate her ability to connect with her patients, especially the young ones, in a way that fosters trust and warmth and therefore readiness to learn. And she was wonderful for me, as a parent, because she created a rapport with me too, and was able to explain her methods and my son's progress in ways I could understand. She provided ideas for helping him continue to learn and practice at home, made celebrations of his milestones, and made me confident he was in good hands. My son was always so excited when it was time to go to Miss Megan's! He absolutely loved her, and so did I. Because of her amazing work he has come far in two years, and is back to age-appropriate speech level. I cannot thank her enough.
Two more things: Megan also works with older patients who have speech difficulties, and I met some of them in the waiting room and even struck up conversations, and they all loved her as much as the parents of young children did. And lastly, though we tried some other offices that used a "group" approach - i.e., a team of therapists that would rotate who worked with the child from week to week - I was far more impressed with Megan both as a therapist and because of her one-on-one approach. I believe it allowed her to build trust with my young son that he could never have achieved with a rotating group of different people. I am just so grateful I found her, and so impressed with the brilliant progress my son made under her care. You will love her too!

“I wanted to write to thank you so much for helping me earlier this year. I enjoyed getting to know you, myself, and appreciate all the hard work and thinking you put into our relationship. For me I looked forward to our calls and will miss you, the person, carrying forward positive thoughts for you and all that you have built. Thank you so much Megan. You are a rock star in your work!”
